Is My Cory Doing Better Today?

moved her into hospital tank, sadly she is laying on her side but still breathing(maybe she'll get better) sadly, i have to leave home for a few hours and hopefully she will live but to be honest, she doesn't seem like she can take much pain....Thank you for all the help you guys have offered me and thank you for caring for my cory hopefully she will survive today and every single other day that comes to her. I will update you guys ASAP

What makes me so angry is that she is in pain and all i am doing is living my normal life and just changing water for her....it feels so useless and she seems like she just wants to die and end the pain but i really don't want to abandon her until she is truly dead

I don't know what I'd do if I were in that position, at least you could get the meds fast if you would figure out what it is (and if she hangs on, maybe you can find it and cure it).

I doubt animals wish to die, they just question why it hurts and try to get away from it or make it hurt less. They probably don't even know what death is and their basic instinct is to try to survive.

I've had to accept deaths before, and the only fish I've cried for were a small swordtail that escaped and got stomped on by me accidentally when I was a kid and when I found my favorite catfish Rex frozen in front of the door because he jumped out of the aquarium. After that, I just lost my feelings after I came home to an emptier tank when my dad was in charge. Only that I'd probably cry if my current catfish would die, he's the oldest one I've ever had and got attached to him.

I hope the cory's problem will be discovered and fixed. In my case, I'd probably just take a med that fixes what's closest to that problem since either way the fish might not make it. (in a "nothing more to lose" case).

Edit: If she's lying on the side, that's a very bad sign. -.- Most of the time, when a fish is lying on the side, that means they're going soon. :( Sorry.

to be honest... laying on her side sounds like she is on her way out :(

Came back home and saw her gills not moving for about 10 minutes and then put net in and she started moving in circles but almost lifeless...i didn't want to be the one responsible for its pain and had to end her life....to be honest i actually cried since i got so attached to this cory, all my other cories died except for her and even though she stayed alone for about 5 months(other ones died and i gave up with cories except her) she was always outside really happy even when she was the only cory in the tank. I have two other cories that were with her i got them about one week ago and was waiting for pet store to ship more they seem really sad, one of them is in her cave and the other one is in front of her cave....the sadness is noticable and i feel guilty, hopefully i can find these cories a home or get them a few friends so they aren't sad.

Well, life goes on. I've had to say goodbye to a lot of pets. I got used to it. At least miss Cory can now rest in peace after what ever hurt her.
Yeah, they were probably wondering what happened and why she's not around with them. They'll make new friends though, so at least that's the bright side (whether you give them or keep them).

Hopefully i'll be able to go down to the pet store on friday :) :) the guy said they get new cories on friday and i am hoping to get two female cories and four brochis(emerald cories) i got one brochis in my tank and one bronze and they will love the company however my tank will probably look a little empty without my old friend

Hey, at least you'll have more fish. I'll probably be reaching zero after this week if I'll have to give them all away. :( I'll miss my old buddy Tzuppy then.

Things just aren't looking quite pink for me. I have yet to tell my mom about giving the fish away because I cannot contact my boss to know if and how much I'll get paid. He said he'll check Western Union today but pff... Words.

yeah... my two cories look so sad they have spent all day long around her(pepita kept the name hidden for a while but that was her name) cave and hopefully they will eat and keep themselves healthy until friday

Aww :( Well, they'll be ok and when they'll meet new ones they'll probably start playing.
Corys look like little bunnies. X)

Yeah right now they are outside without moving but they are strong and i believe that they'll make it it's only like 4 days

Unless they have caught anything, they should be ok. Keep an eye on them for anything strange and make sure they are healthy.
My catfish was sad when his friend died too, he'd be looking all over for him. Now he's just bored, though he sometimes hangs out with the swordtail female who's most of the time next to him. I really hope I can build him a larger and better home.

omg i have a swordtail and sometimes he goes to the bottom and hangs out with the cories :) out of all the other fish he is the only one that actually goes into the caves even when the cories are in them and sometimes at night i turn on the light and he is next to them...i just spotted the brochis and baby cory scavenging a little bit and they stopped when they saw me but at least i know they are doing sneaky work lol :D
