One of my bettas, Damien, has been acting funny lately. I recently came home from college for spring break, and brought my male bettas with me. All of them made the trip fine except for Damien. When we got home he had some stress lines and was very pale. In a day or so he got his color back, was eating and flaring like usual. But now hes paled again, lost his appetite and just sits on the bottom. His environment has not changed since hes been here. So I'm not sure what it could be. Any suggestions?? Avg. Room temp at night is around 70 degrees and the bowls aren't heated. None of the other fish are affected. It warms up to about 74-76 during the day when the suns out. I don't know if this may be the problem or something else. Thank you!

I'm pretty new to the world of bettas, but I have two thoughts off the top of my head:

The temp might be doing it. Before I had my tank heated, the water was around 70ish, and my guy was pretty lethargic. Where your other fish aren't affected, I'm not sure how probable that is, though.

Another thought I had was his age, is it possible he's getting old and the move wasn't too good for him?

Just some thoughts.

Also, what college do you go to? I only ask because I go to college, too. I'm at the University of Maine at Orono.

Hmmm, I'm not sure... if he's not better by the end of break, do you think it would be a good idea to see if you could leave him home to avoid more stress?

Also, are you on Facebook?
