is my betta really old he has droopy fins and he has lost his color. just plz tell me if he is old or not and if he is going to die.

Thank you

he/she may be stressed. How old is he or how long have you had him or her.

It might not have anything to do with age. It could be bad water conditions, parasites, anything

Any other info you have that could help?

Is he eating? Is he swimming weird? Is he staying near the surface alot?

It could be due to old age (you can never excatly tell if the Betta has been alive for two years, or a few weeks) but it also could be from stress, bad wtaer conditions, ect.

Is he eating? Is he swimming around happily? Or is it just his appearance?

Any extra info for us?

((If you can, please show us some pictures))

My betta is about 3 years old is that old plz tell me.

thank you

Well, actually, you can estimate, a few weeks wouldn't exactly be mature for a betta- you can tell by size mostly, color, curls, and other things. Most pet shop bettas are around 2 yrs old, while females often go as low as 4 months, but my lfs has males that are pretty young as well.

3 yrs old is kinda old, but not all old bettas will have droopy fins and dull colors, what are the water stats?
How big is the bowl?
How often do you do water chnages?
Are there any tankmates with the betta?
Have you done anything to stress him out (move his tank, tap on the glass too much, water change, etc...)?

Yes,2 is average, 7 happens. Get liz2 to tell you how to care for your old man.
