ok...... i have a ten gallon tank wiht a male beta and two sunset platys and two dwarf puffers, and ive heard that dwarf puffers can be aggressive. :/ Is it safe to put them in the same tank? Ive wondered that and thought they MIGHT be ok. Ive been watching them and havent seen any aggression towards one another. I think they might be ok, but wanted another persons oppinion. ;)

im shocked that ur betta hasnt ate or killed the other fish. I thought betta's werent allowed to be in tanks with anyone?? I thought those are meant to be on their own with not even any other bettas in their tank.

There are some specific fish Betta's can be kept with, but either out of confusion or just to make it simpler the general rule is no other fish.

As for the OP's question. I seriously wouldn't put the Betta in with the platys. Sunset Platys are very brightly coloured and have fairly long fins, similar looking to a female betta. I'm not too sure about the Puffers, but I doubt it. Better safe than sorry ;] Keep him in his own tank if you can.

I would always say keep your betta alone or if you must have something with him keep him with a shrimp a corie or an otto.

You can try your betta with other fish but the risk is always going to be there - them nipping his fins or him nipping them.

If you have the resources get him a nice planted tank of his own he'll love you for it - but dont forget he will need a heater and a filter
(unless you want to do loads of water changes!)
