Fish Herder
Most of us are aware that one of the famous aquarium treatments we use is basically water with a bit of tea tree oil and a few extras like aloe vera etc....
That med is used to treat mild bacterial infections and to help with regrowth of fins, heal wounds etc
So - Is it possible that we could treat our fish for internal bacterial problems by feeding foods "enriched" with tea tree oil at low dose and aloe vera juice? I know they can be bought - but here in the UK it is very hard to locate these foods.
Aloe vera juice is sold in health food shops for human consumption so I should image that it would certainly be safe for the fishes, but Im unsure of the tea tree oil..
I cant see that it would do any harm as when a fish swims through the water its subjects its gills to whatever is in the water - and fishes gills are probably the most delicate part. So they get exposed to tea tree oil in this way - so how about through ingestion.
Hmm.
