Just wondering if my tank is over stocked?

-5 neon tetras
-dwarf sunburst platys
-2 red (lamp) eye tetra
-1 african dwarf frog

in a 10 gallon tank with a big artificial plant and piece of driftwood, heater and good filter. Tank is about 2 years old, fully cycled etc.

any replies would be appreciated. thanks!

Rather than starting a new thread I'll ask the same question (sorry for hijacking your thread ;) ).

How does this look.

31USG

2 german blue rams
7 bloodfin tetra
7 cardinal tetra
4 cories
1 bn pleco

If I'm not overstocked am I right at my limit? Could I add a few more?

Depends on filter and plants, as always. For a medium planted tank, I would put that at close to the top of what I would put in. The only adjustments I would make would be to get another 2-4 Corys of the same species, maybe another 3 each of the tetras..

Thanks Kitty Kat,

My filter is a Fluval 205 and I have 10 live plants.

I have only 2 platy's. Don't even know why i forgot to write 2 infront of it :p

Anyways, overstocked? and the frog died this morning so minus him. Don't plan on replacing him might just get something else instead of a frog, like a ghost shrimp or something

If a fish died you may want to hold off stocking the tank. id he die from lack of food? ADF are picky eaters and are easily out competed for food. if not for that reason your tank might be working on a fish in cycle and needs to be sorted out first.

Not overstocked, but Moenkhausia sanctaefilomena (red-eye tetra/lampeye tetra) are too large for a tank that size as they grow to about 3" in good conditions.

You should swap the lampeyes for another 5 or so neons and make sure that your platys are either 2m, 2f or 1m 2f (but having males and females in a tank that size can easily result in overpopulation).

+1 don't add anything till you are sure of what caused the frog death and waited at least a week.
