Is It Okay To Use A Terra Cotta Pot In A Tank?

I have a few live plants in plastic cups in my tank, since I have very little gravel. (Easier to clean)    
 
Would it be harmful to my fish to put the plants in small Terra Cotta Pots?    They've never been exposed to chemicals, soap, etc.   And they aren't glazed.    I have them soaking right now in plain water. Certainly would look better than plastic cups...

i clean anything i put in my tank so yes.
