I have a green algae on 2 rocks and one piece of wood, I used boiling water, on one rock and it killed the algae completely, I know these pieces hold bacteria, would it be okay to remove one at a time weekly, treat with boiling water, then returning without causing a spike in the aquarium.

Probably. If the filter is well cycled, you'd be fine. But algae always returns until you figure out why it's doing so well.

Thanks, my lights on a timer for 6 hrs, and havecut back on feeding, I also have the window blind closed permanently, so don't know what else I can do, my 70 litre tank in the same room is only 5ft away from the tank, and its never had one bit of algae.
