Is It Male Or Female? (yes Another One!)

ok so back before my surprise spawn i had noticed bubblenesting and so i removed what i thought was the male (due to the long anal and ventrals). he/she went into a tank with my guppies (before anyone flames me, they are all double swordtails or lyretails, no big fancy tails to enrage him)

since the spawn i had been wondering if i had made a mistake? maybe he was a girl, after all gemini turned out to be the culprit.

but today i had to swap over some of the tanks and i bagged up gemini and floated him in the guppy tank while i got things sorted.
anyway gemini and peewee both went mad flaring at each other, got a few pics of them and now i'm wondering if i was right the first time and peewee is a boy too!
body shape i think looks female, but quite an impressive flare face, couldn't manage to catch a shot of it unfortunately.
but i would appreciate some feedback from you guys to confirm or deny it

ive been told that u can tell its a girl by the little white spot near the bumhole and from the pics, u can see a white spot, but i may be wrong

nope, you can't always tell from that as my doubletail pk male was supposedly a female and had an obvious egg spot, but she was definately a he as i now have babies from him. he was a very good daddy

here you can see the proud dad guarding his eggs, and just about visible in the crappy photo is a little white dot between his ventrals

Definitely looks like a male to me. The anal fin is pointed and elongated backward and the ventral fins are quite long too. See if you can get him/her to flare and look for the extra skin flap in the gills. Also, you could put him in a cup or bag and float him in another males tank to see how they react. Either of those should let you know one way or another.

The plakat boy I had also had a white spot until he got a little older and it finally went away. Even with the fat belly, I'm leaning towards boy.

also what tail type do you think? looks too long to be a pk and i was wondering if it could be a roundtail?

its not a great photo, but you can see the spread of the tail fairly well here.

Defo a boy and he is a lush colour. As for tail i would say there is PK in there but possible some delta too as the fins are quite long

the photo's are from when i floated another male in his tank, the first one shows him just starting to flare (few seconds too soon with the camera!) not at full flare clearly, but you can see the beard starting to show. and the reaction was for both of them to go completely crazy at each other.

well i'm glad i went with my instincts and got him out when i did! i dread to think what could have happened with gemini's spawn if peewee was still in there at the time!

the guy i got them from said they were from a delta and VT pairing, maybe there were pk genetics in the VT? as i understand sometimes F1 fry between different tail types are VT phenotypes with genotypes of the two parent tail types?
they came from marlee from ebay, quite a few people know that seller i think.

these three also came from him at the same time, he seemed to imply they were all from the same spawn
