Hi

My angel has white spots that are just not coming off, even after 3-4 weeks, and 2 weeks of ich treatment
there are no other symptons apart from very occasional flicking against plants (only noticed this twice)

The ich is gone from the other fish that had it, but the angel has still got white specs on the fins (the body is white so i couldnt tell if that has white spots too)
i cant put salt in because of the loaches and plec

is there anything else it could be?

(it wont let me post a picture because i had to crop it first and now it is in the wrong format or something)

There is a disease--rare in aquaria--that it might be. It is called Knot or Pimple disease. It can be very difficult to distinguish between this and ich, although the difference does show on treatment when it doesn't go away. There are no known methods of curing infected fishes. However, it may also be that you merely have an unusually stubborn case of ich (which is more likely the case).

where can i find more info on this pimple disease? so i can see if thats what it is

cant find anything on the internet.

the fish does seem to have things that look like pimples

If it was my fish in question, I would seperate him, into a bucket w/ airstone if I had to, and treat with salt. That's me I supose.

if it is ich though, you have to treat the whole tank. you can use epsom salt instead of aquarium salt with scaleless fish.

It could just be scar tissue from a wound/small injury but check out articles on Apiosoma and Meterosporis in relation to the angelfish and if you're sure its not from an injury then isolate it on the safe side. How long you had it?

i've had it 4 weeks and its always had these marks

Also one of the bottom fins (are they dorsal fins?..the ones that go under the bottom of the angels bodies) is damaged..he only has quarter of it

maybe he had been attacked previously
