Is it dropsy?

My betta's belly was really swollen, like the size of a pea. his scales were sticking out, so i was getting really sad, thinking it was dropsy and that he was gonna die, well let me say that when his belly was swollen a week and a half ago. his belly has gone down and his scales aren't sticking out, but then on some days he will swell up again. He's still eatting and has been thru all of this. does anyone know whats going on?

I've never had this happen, so I dunno. But from what I read, this possibly could be constipation.

What're you feeding him, how much of it, and how often?

Try feeding him a little cooked/split pea. Supposedly this helps.

They get fed once a day and its only fish flakes, and once a week they get bloodworm. I think it might be the catfish pellet things that i put in for my catfish. maybe he's eating them and its making him fat? i'll try the pea thing tonight. And ive stopped feeding the catfish pellets. and he hasnt got fat again.
