I did a post last week about my ill betta, and I now think that maybe his caudal fin is stuck together.
Could this be the reason why he isn't swimming much and resting lots? when he swims it looks like he has trouble aswell.
I think there was a post similar to this where someone said about melafix :S is this what I need? where can you get it from? All I have is tonic salts and bacteria control stuff.

Help please! :good: thanks :D

Have you got a photo? My one and only ct has fused fins, caused by .....cant remember...what I do is keep him in clean water, with a smidge of salt and raise the temp. slightly. They sometimes recover, mine is quite happy if a bit tatty!

sounds like he may well have a bacterial infection, if the bacterial stuff you have is antibacterial then use this, melafix isnt for this issue as you need to treat an internal problem when doing water changes throughout treatment do the water change first before adding treatment to a tank. good luck,,,,,,oh also check on any meds whether they can be used with salts as some meds when added with salt can be lethal, if it doesnt say anything on the packet or bottle then it is fine to use with salts.

Here's the pics of him, he looks really restless most of the time!

If I added the antibacteria control the female would still be ok in the tank wouldn't she? (theres a divider obviously)

thanks for your help :D

any more ideas?

does anyone else think it's a bacterial problem or just the fins being stuck together? or are they the same thing :S

sorry, i just don't like to see him ill :D

i've put bacteria control in the tank anyway :)

thanks again!

Hi
Sticky fins can be a sympton of an internal infection. They can also be caused by having the water temp too low and poor water quality.
If your water is a good temp and your stats are fine, then follow Modaz's advice :good:

the female will be just fine as since she is in a divided section anyway she will also benefit from the treatment, his colour is good and tbh his tail doesnt look too clamped so its prob that you have caught it very early so things should be fine with the meds.
