Is ebay a good place to buy used aquariums

I would but most larger tanks are pick up only and are located not in canada ....

I have read some good stuff esp getting fish stores stuff that are moving or going out of buisness. Most peeps want too much for used stuff. remember your fix up time is worth money in labor... the problems that might be had, rarely make it worth your time or chance if it is 75gal or under. Over that fixing a leak, transport ect may be worth it. If it is not less than half the cost of a new one it is a huge waist of time too.

I just bought a tank on e-bay. It was a good transaction. The tank rocks!! It is true that most are pick up only, and if not the shipping can kill you. You really need to ask questions before you bid, ask about any damage, scratches,stains, or cracks in the hood and keep your e-mails. Read the feedback to see if anyone else has had a problem. And see if they have sold similar items and what the buyer had to say. And one thing I learned the hard way is to always get the shipping fee before you bid.

At least someone had a good experience with ebay. I've heard some pretty lousy things.

Maybe I will bid on a couple that I saw earlier today. Does anyone else know of a good place to buy used tanks here in the states.....any place that will ship UPS or something!??

I have bought 2 of my tanks from eBay. One of them included filters, fish, sand, etc etc.



I love eBay and have never had any major problems unless as a seller with non-payers but that doesn't bother me too much.

Sheeeeesh!!

I'm having a SUPER hard time finding tanks that people are willing to ship and that live on this side of the continent!!!!!!!!!!!

If I find a good deal the shipping will down right KILL me if it isn't within 1500 miles or so from me!!!

Darn...I want a tank, but I can't afford a new one!!!

Shipping is a problem on tanks and its nearly always buyer collects but Ebay rocks for everything and I love it

You might find something in the local newspaper classifieds if you're in a city.

Another good option would be to contact a local fish club. They might know some good places to look for a used tank.
