Is Co2 Working

Ive just set up a DIY CO2 and hooked my airline to a airstone that is just sitting under the filter outlet so hopefully the filter outlet should help break the bubbles down.

I just wanted to know, how can I tell if this is working?, How will I tell how much CO2 is entering the water? etc.

Erm I see a couple of tiny bubbles latched on to it but I don't really see any coming out?... Its only a 2.4gal so I used 1/4 tbl spoon of yeast, 50g sugar, 2 pinches of bicarb and around 500ml of water .

So whats up with it

Can anyone suggest how much of each ingrediant to use for a 2.4gal?
