I recently have bought a juwel 400l tank, and I am thinking about having another one as a marine setup. What would I need to make this happen?

Thank you in advance

Rob

hi, Converting a juwel does cost quite a lot of money. IMO i think you should not buy the juwel 400 and by a ready made marine setup, this is because these setups already have sumps, pumps, protein skimmers and the correct lighting whereas the juwel lighting is rubbish for marine (well for reef), you will need a protein skimmer, and if you are panning reef then you will need at least twin 150-250 halides maybe more depending on what you would like.

I converted a juwelk rekord 60 and it has cost me so much i could have got a setup double the size with all equipment for the same price.

With a tank your size, you will need at least 60kgs live rock, £10 a kilo is 600. RO water is a necessity.

JUst some things to think about.

ok, what make of tank would you recommend? I have seen the marine fish at my LFS and it seems the way I want to go. Any websites that you could link me to with a "ready made" setup to get me started..

your help is much appreciated thank you

are you in the UK? If yes, where?
As for tank, ive heard good things about Aqua Medic and Betta, i am thinking of getting one of these makes of tanks in the new year.

betta lifespace all the way...............................

I dont rate betta all that well.

IMHO they look cheap and nasty on those cupboards.

CUSTOM BUILT ALL THE WAY.

Exactly how you want it.

You'll pay extra but it'll be more personal

Yeah custom built tanks are good, this place in hertfordshire looks good though i have not had any experience with them
they advertise here on Aquarists Classifieds, N D Aquatics -

It depends on how much money you want to spend, because i think buying secondhand is the way to go, it is so much cheaper and you can get equipment with the tank

I'd suggest poking through an online retailer like liveaquaria.com just to see what's out there in terms of fish/corals/options. Would be a good place to start.
