Hey everybody!

I am setting up a 75g for my Piranha. Is a 200 watt heater enough for a 75g tank?

This is my plan...any suggestions?

75g dimensions are 44" x 18" x 20"

I have 24 assorted plants coming, and will be using some left over stone, from a patio I put in, for caves and hiding. The Stone is a type of slate and is dark grey. I wil also add some black sand.

I am doing a fishless cycle and have only added water and some gravel from an established tank. The plants should be here in a few days.

When should I add the plants?

Any tips/comments are appreciated.

Thanks!

Well, depends one the temperature of the room in which your tank is standing.
In a heated livingroom 200W are more than enough.
I have a 240l tank (~70gallon) with a 200W heater. It heats 10 minutes per hour maximum. Even a 50W heater would be sufficient in my case.
