Iron + Red Plants

Very interesting with my MGSO4 I would replace that with the GH boost I wouldn't add both at the same time.

I think I will do this so you suggest doing it weekly and testing over the week to watch for drops yea i think I will defiantly do this then I need to do some more research on my salty shrimp as that has more minerals In for the shrimp so again i may need to experiment on that front as well
Just to add I know the GH boost dose not include any other micro nutrients, it's just purely calcium and magnesium and to follow up will any of these two react with the phosphate? Or is that safe to add with macro

I wouldn't expect any reaction, but if by this you mean excess/deficiency of something else as a result, it is possible.

I personally would be careful about adding phosphate.  This is present in fish foods too.  Plants take up phosphorus as phosphate via the roots from the substrate, and in open water phosphate readily reacts with metal oxides like iron oxide and creates insoluble forms like iron phosphate that cannot be used by plants.  In the substrate this reaction is less common, and oxygen released by plant roots can also help to break it down.  Algae can readily thrive on phosphate in the water column at any level above 0.03 mg/litre, which isn't much.  In most aquaria, phosphate will be around 1 to 3 mg/l anyway.  In natural waterways, phosphate is apparently somewhere around 0.005 to 0.02 mg/l.

Okay cool yea the reaction I was on about would be the one like the iron but that's cool, the phosphate I add is minimal as per EI dosing I dose 1/8th tsp 3 times a week and my
Phosphate is 1/16th tsp (but I think I reduced this to 1/32) to reduce my phosphatr in the tsnk I should have and aim for around 2ppm phosphatr and 20ppm nitrate with the golden rule of 10/1 nitrate to phosphate at the moment I do have some algae in the tank but I have just changed my substrate and that made an increase in nitrate way over 100ppm but that has come down since then and I think the algae I have at the moment is the cause of that and a change in the way I addd my co2 as well but things have stabilised since then and algae growth is minimal
My dosing regime is

1/8th nitrate
1/16 phosphate
5/8th magnesium

1/16 trace

They are what I dose at the momen obviously GH boost will replace the magnesium I try not to deviate from that plan as if I add less nitrate/phosphate I'm worried of a dificency as EI is based on making ferts not a limiting fact

Try growing them in laterite/lateritic soil. It is commonly sold here for use in planted tanks and has even crossovered for use as reptile and invert substrate

They are being grown in ADA Amazonia soil so the substrate is fertile I also have other additives within the substrate to aid root growth which seems to work :)
