Hey all, my name is Jeffery. I am starting to keep bettas, I have kept them before, but that was a long time ago when I wasnt big into the hobby. I am usually in the New World Cichlid subforum since that is the main type of fish I keep. But recently I decided to get into keeping/breeding bettas. I have bred many different types of fish, even had a few succesful tetra spawnings (which is extremely difficult if anyone has tried). I recently bought 6 HM bettas from kit (aquastar71) off of aquabid.com.

male hm peacock butterfly
male electric blue butterfly

also i got 3 female siblings, but dont have the photos of them or link for them anymore.

Hi Jeffrey very nice I like your first boy! they are lovely welcome to the forum! :good:

well i am not new to the forums, i have been here for almost a year, and have kept fish for about 4 years. the first male is my favorite as well, but they are all pretty.

Hi, jb12288, welcome to the fun side of the forum - and nice fish!
That first one's really spectacular - and looks like a way-over half moon to boot, as far as I can tell.

Hope you'll soon be putting up big, clear pics for us to oooh and aaah over - I'm on a borrowed, old computer and pictures don't show very well on here.
And we do love baby pics here - as long as they're fish...

Edit: Congrats on the new baby! - rather bad timing on my rather feeble joke - after all, some babies can't help it if they haven't got tails, lol...

i will post pics the day the fish come in...they are being shipped from thailand sunday, so i pick them up on tuesday. i am going to setup the breeding and start cycling it. but i wont start breeding until after christmas, i have a busy schedule now that i have a baby and in-laws.

Hi and welcome to the betta section Jeffery :good:

You've certainly got some stunning boys on their way to you. Good luck and hope they all arrive safe and well!!!!!

i hope they do too, i dont see why they wouldnt though, they will only be in box for about 30 hours

rome georgia us correct.

I will be interested in your babies when they get spawned and grow up. and oh yes I know the new baby thing, very well. welcome to the forums, I live in pa.

When they spawn I will post a spawn log and keep it updated, and when they are about 3.5 months I will post males up for sale and will have female siblings available if needed for anyone interested; and I will also put some up on aquabid. But yea, she is 8 months old and is learning to walk and this is her first christmas so we are trying to make it her best christmas.

I forgot to say what kind of tank I will keep the bettas in. I have a 20 gallon divided into 4 sections; 3 of the sections are 3 gallons and are for the 3 males, the other section is 11 gallons and will house the females.

I just went to WalMart and got the plastic mesh screens and used aquarium sealant to attach them to the aquarium glass.

So after talking with Kit about a week ago he informed me that he was unable to ship last Tuesday because of a protest in Thailand that has closed down the airports, but now he is going to be able to ship and is in communication with the transshipper in Atlanta and will ship between Sunday-Tuesday. So I will have the fish within a week. *CROSSES FINGERS*

So I have finally gotten around to getting some photographs of the main housing tank and the breeding tank.

Here is the main housing tank, it is a 20 gallon tall divided into 4 sections; 3 for males and 1 for females:

And here is the breeding tank, it is a 10 gallon filled about 6" with a sponge filter and 50 watt heater:

I did not have the light on the tank at the time of the photo.
