Introducing New Fish into Tank

Do you get your fish from far away? If so, then the differences in the water quality could be the factor that's killing your fish. I tend to get my fish from my local lfs and because the water is from the same source, the fish are already used to it. I float them for a few minutes and then release them into the tank, and so far, so good - I haven't lost any.

Following advice I was given, my method is similar to the that of the cheese specialist

Only difference is, once acclimatised, I transfer the fish WITHOUT the water from the bag!! This is probably over cautious, but I just don't fancy taking the chance adding water from a different tank
