Hi All,

My venture into the salty side consists of an Interpet River Reef 94 but I need help in setting it up! I have a skimmer to go into one of the sections but I dont know what order to put the media in etc! I thought the skimmer had to sit above a certain level but if i fill the tank to the max line that doesnt look possible as it would be completely covered!

Any ideas welcome.

hello mate have a search for my river reef journals in marine I did two and great tanks they are too

I didnt use media so cant help you there just live rock and powerheads. I struggled with a skimmer I had and used a cheap one Boyu from hong kong on ebay and it fit perfect in the third chamber/

1st chamber had heater in for me , second a tight with carbon and one with rowaphos in and third was the skimmer fourth the two powerheads?

hope that helps

Simon

Hi, thanks for the reply! I have this skimmer http://www.warehouse-aquatics.co.uk/kent-marine-nano-protein-skimmer.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=base&utm_campaign=wa and as I understand it the top section should sit above the water line but if the tank is filled to the max line it gets covered if its in the third chamber. Any ideas?

Im also not sure media in the second chamber is going to be all that useful as I will obviously be having live rock and where is the flow of water through the media? does it come from the powerheads in the fourth?

This is how i see it from left to right -
1. Heater
2. Media of some sort.
3. Skimmer (as long as I can get it fitted correctly!)
4. 2 Powerheads.

If you can tell me how to get the skimmer installed without the top bit covered i'd be sorted! lol.

Cheers.

no idea sorry lol same problem i had with the first one and everytime i shut the lid it went under the water i bought the boyu 310 and it fit and could be used without going under the water due to the design and it took a decent amount of crud out the water

If you search "Interpet River Reef" on Google there should be a link from Interpet explaining how to set up the filter compartment. You need a weir to lower the water level in the 3rd section.

Hope this helps.
