Internal Or External Filter

I've just upgraded again, and am currently using a small internal to un my 18x12x12 tank, but would like something with a bit more power, so a reasonable internal, or a external, say Eheim 2013 or equivalent.
Should be willing to post if not local.
Please let me know what you have and price.

External over internal when possible, but I would not put an overkill external on a small aquarium. For a 40 litre aquarium (as yours is), I would consider a filter which has a low rating of no more than 50 litres.. if I remember correctly, external Eheims start with low ratings of 100 litres.

Thanks, but my current tank is 18/12/12, the new tank is, as per the description, ~125L.
I've used Eheims since the mid 80's, and agree, always external over internal.

Aha, in that case I can strongly recommend the Eheim 3e range, and have only ever heard good things about the Classic range.
