I have an Interpet mini internal filter. It came with 3 sponges inside, 2 white normal ones and a carbon one. I removed the carbon and it started to make a rattling noise. So I bought more of the white sponges and placed one of them inside but the noise is still there.

Any suggestions?

By the way, this tank is in my room and is keeping me awake

EDIT:

Ok so I pulled out the manual and took the top part apart (with the impellor etc) there was nothing inside that could have blocked it to rattle round in there! I'm guessing it might be something to do with the impellor. I've only had it for about 2 weeks and its keeping me awake :(

Anyone?

I got used to mine being noisy, i do turn the air wall off at night though as that is way too noisy

It was in my room and just too loud so I bought a new filter, although I still turn my air pump off at night too!

I did and it was still rattling around but there was nothing wrong with the impeller appearance wise. I'm just keeping it running in my tank downstairs as a spare incase of any emergencies. :)
