Hey Guys

Ive had my Juwel rio 125 ltr running for about 3 weeks now and im starting to think about changing the filter sponges in the internal filter for some other media.

I have a roll of filter floss on the way and I would like to know what other people would do?

I was thinking of some phosphate remover possibly but not sure what else or how to go about putting it in the filter box.

Thanks

Luke

I read alot about people removing the box. But as this is my first tank I didnt want to make things to complecated and decided to keep it in. Its a good place for the heater to hide away and i wanted a little extra than just live rock!

If i was to have both phos and carbon remover how exaclty would I go about doing that?

Thanks

Luke

they can just sit in media bags, ideally you would space it out so they got good flow over them though

Yep agree with Ben - you could put them each in a media bag (carbon, phosphate and nitrate remover) and hang them on hooks and use the original juwel pump to pass flow through them :good:

I think thats the plan then :D Thanks

the juwel media has a cage full of white little rocks, what is that for? is it worth leaving in or not worth it?

Thanks
Luke

they are pourus and meant to home bacteria. if left for a bit they can clog up and be detrimental to your water quality. id just leave them out.
