Ok Im a newbie to fishkeeping and a newbie to this site, Ive got a Juwel Trigon 190 which Ive had now for a few months tanks nice and clear, fish seem happy and all seems well...

Except I have a problem with the backing, Ive got that kind of rough plastic stuff stuck to the back of the tank, which I attached with bathroom sealent, but one edge has come undone, and now there are 3 neon tetras behind it.

So what do I do?

I dont think I can empty the tank, and keep the fish in a bucket long enought to re stick it.?

is there any kind of water proof non toxic adhesive that I could use while the fish in the tank?

Any sugestions?

You might want to get the fish out anyway if you really used bathroom sealant. Most silicone sealants that are not specifically for aquariums, and particulaly bathroom/wetroom products contain anti mould and fungus additives, frequently Arsenic based. These will slowly leach into your tank and poison your fish.

You should only use sealants which are specifically for aquariums.

You should be able to keep your fish in a bucket for long enough to do the job. Make sure you get your filter running as soon as possible though, if it starts to dry out, you'll loose your bacteria.

just to set the record straight, the sealent came form the petshop with the tank, so Im asuming it was safe to use, "bathroom sealent" was just my newbie'ish way of describing it.

Well looks like my weekends all planned then. any other tips it Im setting it up from scratch again?
