Int Or Ex Filter For A 20gal....

Ive had my 20gallon fluval duo deep for over 2 years now, and with it came the fluval 2+ internal filter, its starting to have problems and i think its time for a change.
So i was wondering what filter(s) you would suggest that cost under £30, internal or external.
