Hi All

Ive not really thought this through yet but wanted to sound it out.

i was thinking of adding some holes to my outlet tube the idea being to give a more vertical draw on the water column as well as the normal intake from the bottom of the tube.

Good idea or not?

Will it effect flow, output, turnover etc etc.

Thanks in advance

So if I'm understanding this right, you want to turn an outlet bar into a spraybar pretty much?

Thats what i was thinking about but i would call it a suction bar.

It will work, but if the water level drops below the highest hole, your filter will lose suction. Another way of doing it, is to get a piece of pvc, that will fit over your intake and drill it full of holes, 1/4" holes from top to bottom. this way if the water level drops your filter will still work.

like it great idea but does it improve anything??

Most of the "nasty" stuff in the water, is in the top two inches, chemically wise. So even if you just put holes near the top, with just a few near the bottom, for detritus and continued water flow, it would be beneficial.

Sounds like an over-flow...........

Thanks,
Steve
