Injuries You Have Suffered

Not me, but when I worked for a distributor, at least once a week someone got "stung" by scorpion fish.
happily, it was never me, but from what I understand, it's awfully painful.

(there were also stingings from regular ol' land scorpions and thousands of snake bites).

I worked at my lfs for a while so have suffered countless injuries including electric shock from busted heaters, cuts, stabs from catfish spines, etc... The worst by far though was being bitten by a huge red devil! I was just trying to siphon his tank and he snuck up on me... took a chunk out of my hand!! After that I always cleaned his tank with a rock in my other hand and had to bash him in the face whenever he came near... That didn't stop him from trying though.

i got stabbed by a raphael. i was moving a log and apparently he was under it and he flared his fins right into my hand. it wasnt that painful but it was surprising

when i started my 25gal tank i wentto put a background on it when it was on the shelf. i got up on the shelf and sat on it and leaned back to put on the bkacground and as i did that the whole shelf broke so i got off quick and with super human strength and alittle adreniline a lifted the tank full off water to another self. i got acouple glass slivers in my hand and had to hit the shelf back up into the rite position which sprained my wrist. :fun:

my very hungry pike cichlid taking a gash at my arm causin it to bleed in the tank so had to clean it again after i just did one lol and when i went to pick something up from under my tank and hitting my head on the way up  extremely stupid but hey

my ghost shrimps will hand feed, and it feels really cool when they walk on the my finger underwater
That's very cool. I love to feel the fish touching on my hand in the water, it's a sort of priviledge that they consider you safe enough to touch. I love hand feeding my plecs, the big two.

Fish injuries. Well, big plecs spike, it's what they do, but I've not had any major spiking incidents from them. I rememebr the first time I carried Nessie home in a bag from the lfs, I knew nothing about them and the lady (girl) there knew nothing about them either. By the time we got home she had popped her bag in many places and I was walking at 15 mph to get there before she ran out of water!

someone i know died as a result of some sort of disease she cought from the fishtank. i dont remember what it was but they said its pretty common in tanks, and people with low quality immune systems are suspect to it.

My eyes have gone a bit blurry from all the hours I've spent sat with my face right up to the tank staring in!

My boyfriend dropped the tank lid on my head today. :S :D Not really an injury though.

And we both work in a deli and get a lot of burns so putting your hand/arm in the tank to sort out the valve in the bubble curtain really hurts.

i had a few and i only started my best 1 tho happened today :D i was in my bedroom looking ta my plecs as i love them guys more them my gf! :D dont tell her i sed thta she will kil me ne ways as i was staring and walking to my tv i walked dead into the wall with my head hitting it first about knocking me out and all my gf did was laugh... it was painfull

also anouther tiem about a week ago i was getting ready for bed just turned the light off and just as i went to jump into bed my tank light went off as its on an auto tier for 10 hours a day so i dnt have 2 mess around wiht it ne wyas it went off just as i jumped into bed and cos it had just gone off everythink was pitc black cos my eyes hadent ajusted and i dived head first into my wall once again! so now i altere my light timer :D

anouther fish story with em is when i was at the sea side and ws stung in the foot by a cray fish and had 3 big holes in my foot still got the scars today that wasent plesent :D

fish rule tho its worth it!!!

Cleaning the filter in my goldfish tank is deadly! I badly lascerated my hand numerous times cleaning that sucker - even skinned my entire thumb scrubbing the intake. Blech - nothing like watching you skin float away in a bucket of dirty fish water because you're trying to keep the beneficial bacteria alive.
I seldom walk away from tank cleaning without a few cuts and bruises. Recently, while scrubbing the glass on the hood of my 75g, I ran my palm along the edge thinking the paper towel was covering it... it wasn't. Slit my whole darned palm open, blood EVERYWHERE; they should really sand that glass so the edges aren't so deadly!
I've gotten more than a few wounds from the betta tanks even since they're 100% cleanings. The 5g hex tank has a vendetta against me I swear; it is amazingly hard to grip properly because the extra sides throw it off balance no matter how you hold it. I slipped once on spilled water carrying it to the tub to dump it, and litterally just crashed onto my back and let it fall on me so it wouldn't shatter - many, many bruises from that one!
