I can post pictures, but they will be exteamly graphic...

So while cleaning my tank, the glass lid broke, (I didnt see it did) and when I went to walk away a one inch sliver of the lid ended up in my foot... Does anyone know if Marineland or the lfs I bought the tank kit at will do something for me?

they might do it depends when you bought it and if a grantee was mentioned

also pictures would be a must if i was you lol just to creep others out

Ouch! You poor sod!

How old is the tank? You should always go to the retailer first, but they may well tell you to contact the manufacturer directly, or they might do it on your behalf.

Ew, you ghoulish person! I hope it wasn't too bad a cut; at least with glass cuts they are 'clean' so knit back together easily... I think you need a stiff drink to get over the pain!

pics!!!!!!!!!!! joking aside no warranty will cover accidental damage .

The LFS probably wont do much for you, much better to go to casualty

Why would they compensate you for breaking the glass and then stepping on it?

Where it broke from.

You make it sound like things happened on purpose. It chipped, i didn't notice, and stepped on it. If a ML heater explodes (before given notice for the recall they had) I lost all my fish, water damage in the house, ML would total up all the losses and replace them for you. But that was because the recalled heaters had a lifetime will never explode gaurentee. How do I explain this in a way you'll understand. When you buy a product, food, equipment, or other, it has to have approprate warning lables in the instructions, lables, food, whimis or whatnot to gaurentee the saftey of the user. When a product fails to do that, then they can be held liable.

No offense -- ok some offense, but you sound like a whiney person looking for a handout. Prior to your aquarium breaking, were you aware that shards of broken glass are in fact sharp? Did you happily go stomping around in piles of broken glass that were dull, only to be shocked when this dagger cut a hole in your foot?

Pretty much anything that is jagged and has any tensile strength will have the ability to cut you of you step on it. If your aquarium chipped because you were cleaning the lid and you broke it and then you hurt yourself because of that, you have no one to blame but yourself. If you weren't aware of the fact that broken glass is sharp, then quite frankly I'm surprised you haven't already won a Darwin Award.
