I have bought some Sterlet food from www.sturgeon-web.co.uk which is a very informative site.

I want to get one of those air pumps, but not sure which. My local shop sells the following, has anyone any views on them?:

Blagdon Pond Air
Blagdon Koi Air 25
Oase Pond Aerator Aqua-Oxy 400

I use this Blagdon on one of my ponds, great pump! I'd go for this and the external, now that your hooked on fish why not extend the pond for Koi and other fish 8) .
