Info Needed

Ive not kept these but have kept the very similar Hydrolycus scomberoids (Payara). As with all Cynadon species i would imagine they are quite delicate and prone to dropping dead for no apperent reason as well as being difficult to ween away from eating live fish. One tip on feeding them is to feed at night with the lights off, they are nocturnal hunters and are more likely to strike at frozen food in the dark than during the day.

I gather you are thinking of buying some from Tom Halverstons site, i was considering them myself but i'm moving house in 3 weeks so am having to hold off until the fish have all settled after the move :(

yer a friend just took devivery of 2 today so i might be swapping the 2 for my silver aro.

i dont know wether ide risk them with my aro and stingrays or not. the aro wont eat them even though he is 5x there size, it might kill thm but not to eat. the stingrays will probably get them if not.

if they managed to survive to a decent size im just wondering wether they would kill the aro and rays.

bugger it im not takeing the risk, ill just get the bagarius cat instead.

Is that Bagarius bagarius or Bagarius yarelli? Either one i wouldnt add a monster like that to my tank, those things have teeth like saw mills and an attitude to match

The Rahpiodon would probably be ok but would struggle to compete for food against an arowana and motoros.

i had a yarelli about a year ago and sold it when it got to about 14" as i dident really have a big enough tank to keep it. i sold it to wharf for £40 and they sold it for £150! lol.

the ones i can get are b, bagarius at about 6" ive had a few but always end up selling them to friends who want them and carnt find them.

as for the teeth yer they are big and they can do proper damage, MANS FISH, my type of fish.

if i dident have so much money in my xback then i would have a common wolf inthere as well.
