Indochina Biotope

Haven't been on here in a while, had a bit of a problem with hair algae. Since the pictures i posted my vallis seems to have spread lots and lots of runners but halved in height. I'm not sure if the algae made it die off slightly or my loaches are biting the plants in half.

I would like to have the height in the vallis as well as the thickness (like in the pictures) does anyone know how i can make it grow tall, or even the likely cause of the breakages?

Fish wise, i have lost another of the new loaches, unfortunately he never put on weight since i got him. I think he had the dreaded skinny disease and despite using a good wormer and feeding plenty he died a couple of days ago.

So after the problems i have had recently i am again trying to get back on track with this. I think i will aim at adding fish from Burma/Thailand and create the biotope around the Botia Histrionica. So i have been looking at the different types of danio that come from the region. I will try to add updated pictures for anyone that is interested in seeing.

Yeah lets see some pic's mate and see if we can cheer you up a bit, you don't sound at all happy in your update. :(

Ha ha thanks steveo, i must admit i started this project full of optimism and cheerfulness but things don't always turn out the way you planned. I expected to have a vallis jungle by now and am kind of left with a dying cesspit.

I will post pictures tonight after i finish work. Unfortunately i'm on backshift which dictates the funny times i am able to use the forum. Thanks in advance Steveo.

What's your lighting power, how many tubes are you running and exactly what are you dosing?
