I bought some Indian Almond leaves. I've tried them twice now. I put a whole leaf in my 10 gallon tank and a partial leaf in my 2.5 gallon. In neither tank did they change the color of the water at all. They were in over a week. Aren't they supposed to slightly discolor the water? If so, is it at all possible the ones I got are too old or something?

what colour were the leaves? it should be a brown colour and quite brittle to the touch. after 5 days it should be noticibly more "tea-like" in colour. do you use a filter in your tank?

Well, they are brown and brittle. Yes, both tanks have filters. Is that the problem?
