How is that possible? Surely they die from the lack of oxygen as they're not in water?
Not sure about the particular fish in this thread, but many types of fish like certain types of pleco's and cories have very primitive air breathing lungs, and as long as the fish is kept damp, they can sometimes last a fair while out of water. Fish also have a slower metabolisms than us so i guess they use up less oxygen and energy than us less quickly.
For example during the dry season, wild sailfin and common pleco's dig a whole in the rivers mud bank and can live in the wet and damp hole with minimal water in it for a long time depending on the fishes fat reserves. I know that some types of loaches can also form a protective thick slime coat around them when out of water to keep them moist and going for longer.
