Increasing My Filtration

Sorry, just read my last post back and I'm rather harsh in it.... That was a little brutal to fluval, they are not totally rubbish

I would make my own spraybar out of PVC if it needs to be an exact length. It's not too hard or fiddely to do if you have the tools :good: A clamp and bench drill is the easiest way to get them all pointing strait, without drilling yourself

All the best

With regards to the fluval spray bar, it's made of two parts each about 18", so you can make it either 18" or 36".
Making your own out of PVC pipes (black stuff looks nicer) is cheaper but just a little more fiddly - still a great option to save a few £.

And with regards to the first part of the last post, I can only refer to this thread.
I run a 305 on a very heavily stocked 190l with loads of plant debris in it (I never bother cleaning it out) and find it well more than adequate.

as an aside to the thread you linked. fluval, except the FX5, would not even figure in my possible filters. i read too much about their problems, way more than many other filters. lol, that does not mean i'm right. but you have to wonder if everyone else, who complains, are wrong too!
to me the solution given by rabbut, is by far the best, to the spray bar problem, but DIY is not everyones forte

Yet Again thanks for your input and ideas they are sincerely appreciated

I am an Engineer so knocking one together should be easy be honest I never even thought about it just thinking there will always be something on the market lol

At least it will be the perfect length I think I will start with 5mm wholes and if they need to be bigger I can always open them up more :good:

Again thanks gents

Regards Ian.
