So I was in the shop today.

We are looking for nice sand for my Dad on the way back from looking at a car.

I end up leaving with another VT, a bright red one...no black mask like my Purple/red VT at home.

I knew as I was browsing it was stupid...the voice saying No screamed when I asked the price, it screamed louder when I asked for it to be bagged up...when the money left my pocket that voice just screamed obscenities.

I wanted to keep my second tank free for a Dwarf puffer and Shrimp breeding. Looks like I'll have to convince the mother to let me have another Tank for that to happen :fun:

The point in this post...not one really...they are just addictive aren't they?

YEEEESSSSSSS They are so addictive, I have 12 currently and I'm in the slow process of moving them into 10 gal tanks.. Although one of them is enjoying flaring at his reflection through the 1 gal tank he's in on my bathroom counter when the light's on :/ All my girls save one are sharing a tank right now

12?!

You are addicted lol.

I have moved my 'old' (just under 2 months) betta from the 90litre to the 28ltr as he was startin to get a little rought with my Guppies...I felt evil but he seems happier in the much slower current. His fins are constantly out showing full beauty now.

:/

Bettas do prefer slow current tanks, they're not used to being in the typical current setups. My females are doing alright in their current situation, enjoying swimming near the top for spurts of fast swimming, and then coasting down to chill in the lower levels.

What I will be doing soon to conserve space is put all my males in divided 10 gal tanks, so I'll need 3 more tanks for them, rounding to a total of 4 tanks and 1 5 gal for my blind boy.

Originally it's so I have a good selection to start out with when I get the time and funds to breed them..

Ahh fair enough.

Seems like alot of hard work though for relatively little profit.

Yeeaahh... well.. that's what main jobs are for, I'll probably be able to supply the local fish stores with better quality and easier to access fish for their retail price per fish..

they are so addictive i went from 1 vt male to 2 males and 5 females this week, nice mixture of tail types too :good:

I agree this is a very addictive hobby! Ive seen a few red VT and would love to give them a home! And I would love to have a few females some day aswel! Having just had to buy a seperate tank anyway for the one I have now I cant afford to get more

Bettas are really addicting! I got up to six at one point...then I began cutting back and gave a few away b/c it seemed a bit obsessive and hoarding :) Now, I have three. Last week one passed away and I went ahead and replaced her, even though I had originally decided that after all mine passed on, I would stick with just one or two.
