I treated one of my Bettas with the Ich killer stuff by adding some everyday and leaving the light on for a month. You have to kill off the eggs that are in the water too, so they will not attach to the fish. I treated the fish for a month with the medicine and I do not think I even did a water change or maybe I did once during that time--Can't remember. But it was definitely a month long treatment.

Hope your fish gets well soon!!! :)

Update*

He's still got really bad white spot and now he's developing finrot!

On the treatment i'm using (King British WS3) it says not to use any other treatment at the same time and its the same with the interpet one (-can't use finrot treatment at same time) so i don't know what to do :(

He's getting more listless every day and when i try and feed him a betta flake he takes it in his mouth and then spits it out about 5 mins later.

I'm doing 50% water changes every 2 days to try and remove some of the spores and then i redose after the water change, temps still up and i've been adding aqualibrium salt - i don't know what else to do?

Oh dear :/
Yep - unfortunately you most certainly cannot use 2 different meds at the same time. I tried it once and the results (mass death  ) were such that I'd never try it again

as far as i remember you shouldnt use both the treatment and salt, its one or the other. as he now has finrot using salt could make the problem worse. dont have any over head lighting on and try to keep him quiet.
for a salt bath try a gallon of temperature matched dechlorinated water in a bucket and let him swim in it for up to 10 minutes, but if he starts to look distressed or stops and doesnt respond then take him out. if he doesnt stand the treatment then your betta isnt strong enough to take any salt.
use 1 1/2 level teaspoons of salt. hopefully this for three days will knock some of the spots off and help him to feel better.

I know i read on at least one of the treatments that you should add salt to help the treatment but i also thought salt helped finrot?

its a double edged sword with salt and finrot. if theres a lot of salt or theres salt in the tank over a period of time it can actually cause the finrot.

Well i'm at a loss what to do.

I fed him 4 bloodworm and he seemed to keep them down but other than that he's no better, i think i'm just gonna have to wait it out and see if he makes it :/
