Importing Bettas , from SE Asia.

I've seen some good looking bettas , on aqua-bid, from SE Asia. They are beautiful, and seem cheap. Then you are advised about this and that charge, and permit, and so on.
Has anyone had any experiace, importing these fish ?. How do they stand up to the long shipping times. Any advice on total coast ?
I see some USA breeders charge $40.00 to ship a fish across state.
Any advice wellcome.

They SEEM cheap. It's $5 to get them to the U.S. to a transhipper, and then it's another $25 or sometimes more to get them to you from the transhipper.
