I think maybe Prime was what I meant instead of AmQuel. Whatever I was talking about was basically a water conditioner that also helps with ammonia. LOL. In any event, I have never used Prime, but have heard great things about it. I prefer to not use chemicals either if I can avoid it, but if there is a problem with ammonia in the tap water, using a conditioner that also helps nutralize ammonia is what I'd use, since I have to use conditioner anyhow. Also, an easy way to remove chlorine from your tap water is to let it sit out for about 24 hours. The chlorine will readily gas oiut of your water. You will still need conditioner if your water company uses chloramine, which does not gas out no matter how long your water sits. My water company adds chloramine so I still need conditioner. If chlorine was the only addative, I could just let the water sit a day, and then use it without conditioner of any kind.
