Well, I finally got a good pic of one of the imbellis fry, so I figured I'd show it off. I only saw 7 during waterchange today, so I assume the smallest sibling finally got eaten. I kinda figured it was going to happen, since they're almost 4 weeks old now and it was still the size of a week old fry :/
All the rest were growing normally, so I figured it was just best to let nature take its course.
Anywho, here's the cute little bugger! :D

And here's the proud daddy and his new wife (the mother of these fry managed to commit suicide by jumping out)
BTW, if you can't tell, the one on the right is the male.

SO CUTE! I am completely in love with your B. imbellis. All of them.

Grow well and grow fast, little ones.

 sorry but that just sounds too funny !

very cute fry  hope the remaining ones grow up nice and strong :flex:

Adorable!!!! Congrats

So, what's the story with the labyrinth? Does it develop the same as a typical splenden at four weeks? I ask because, although I keep my wilds in unfiltered tanks, I have never seen them take a gulp of surface air...

I haven't seen these hanging out at the surface either Wuv, so I'm really not sure... the parents are in a filtered tank, but even my splendens in filtered tanks take a breath from the surface on occasion and I've never seen the imbellis do it. I guess they just don't rely on their labyrinth as much :dunno:
The container the fry are in has a huge surface area, so there's probably enough oxygen in the water for them even if they never use their labyrinths.
