im thinking on getting some sicklets in i think its a 15 liter tank how many would i be able
to have in it.
(its not for definate im just getting advice first)

Cichlids? If the converter I used is right, I'd say none. I don't think there is one for a 3 gallon tank.

Edit: Um, if your 12 gallon is overstocked to the hilt, why are you looking to get even more fish?

you can get a male betta in the 3gallon but i suggest you quickly rehome most of your fish in your 12.5 gallon...Like the common plec and the knifefish can easily reach a foot or so...Leaving them in that size tank will be stunting and shortening the life of your fish...

yehh i no ive got a 30gal cyceling now for them. atleast this will give them a bit more space.
yes so i think i will get a better then thanks for the advice.
actualy what is the smallest sized tank i could have for 2 sicklets

Damn, with all those fish you need a 150+ gallon tank.
I would either return the plec and knife, or get a bigger tank for just them.

I would say 30g minimum for any cichlid. But 50+ is better.
Most Cichlids get to 5+" when fully grown some over a foot long.
I've seen lfs sell baby cichlids that are under 1" for less than a $1, and all the little kids buy them to put in with they're gold fish and they die within hours.

I would rather see you give these fish up for adoption to live a better life with someone who's a little more experienced and start over with something simple like mollies or a small school of tetras. In my opinion you shouldn't even be looking at cichlids if you don't know how to properly stock a regular freshwater tank.

It is spelled CICHLIDS!!!!!!!!!Not SICKLETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Right now I think that you need to figure out what you are doinng with everything else before you get worrying about cichlids. Firemouths are a cichlid and they get huge. Rams are a cichlid and if you have 2 they could be a pair and they would alone require 15 gallons, al least.

Actually, there are Cichlids which can be in a tank that small. They're all "shell-dwellers" though, fairly aggressive, and incompatible with most everything you have in your tank already. They do fine in anything as small as a 10 gallon though.

What kind of cichlid are you interested in? There are a huge variety, from vastly different places; different sizes and temperaments mean that no-one can give you a proper answer re: tank sizes until you know what it is you're asking.

I wish you would have sought advice on your 12.5 gallon tank as well.

Oh she's had tonnes of advice. Just chosen to ignore it. A bit like the Black Knife new member with the very similar set up. Oh and that Firemouth1 person.

They've all got small tanks, BGKs and firemouths, with the same decor - it's very spooky....

And isn't it odd how Black Knife and Firemouth1 have posted pictures from exactly the same photobucket account?
