What an adorable puppy.

I've always wanted a mastiff, but the closest I ever got was having a Great Dane.

Any mastiff is such an unusual dog, I'm wondering what made your fiancee even think about getting one? I'll bet it's an interesting story.

I did a report on my favorite large breed dogs for school and that was one of them. Gotta love Hooch!!!! (movie)

I wouldn't spend that much on a dog only because I know there are ones that need to be rescued. Go to www.petfinder.com and there are tons of dogs that need homes. Do a search, I always find pure bred dog de bordeaux. There are also lots of purebred neopolitan mastiffs and old english mastiffs. I only search for Ca though. Who knows, there could be even more where you live. There are actually lots of big dog rescues in ca. a saint bernard, great dane, and mastiff rescue. I know you want a puppy but just take a look.

Breeding and showing dogs must be a LOT of work, but sooo rewarding.

One of these puppies came into my workplace (i work in a pet store) and I gave it a lot of fuss (we had a lot of pups in that day - we also had a pure bred Bernese Mountain dog and a rough colliexborder collie) and the owner said the ddb cost him £1500. way, way too much for a dog, imo. but if youre that desperate for that particular breed... they are very appealing puppies but I prefer long haired dogs. my dream dog would be a rough collie (lassie in other words!) which I could enter obedience competitions with and agility. would LOVE to do all that with a dog. but it doesnt have to be purebred! My family's current dog, Bondu, was rescued by us from Cyprus - it cost almost £3000 to bring him back to england. He is incredibly clever. although he is 9 now, we can teach him any tricks in about 10 minutes. He is very cute too!!!! but I like the mastiffs. crossbreeds have more merit imo tho.
