i’m scared that my tiger oscar has swallowed a rock

He could just be stressed, I agree. If it were me, my tank, and my fish, I would add some nice sand to the tank, so the bottom is not bare. Bare bottom tanks can be stressful. You could add some fake plants (oscars i believe are known to uproot live plants) and get some slate to make a cave for him. These things will help him to have a more natural home, where he will feel safer

Agreeing with this. I was a little shocked to see an oscar in a tank with no substrate at all to be fair.

Many people do bare bottom tanks, for how easy they are to clean. I suggest sand as a good choice as it is a lot easier to clean than gravel, while still providing more security for the fish than no substrate at all

I don't think I could! Even from just an aesthetic standpoint, I think bare-bottom tanks look kind of plain. Black sand is my favourite, though I don't really like how much fish poop stands out against it.

Same, it would be like being trapped in your own reflection...
I prefer pale sand! I think it looks more natural, but black sand has a nice way of “blending“ into the tank decor (what I mean by that is it is a subtle, pleasant detail that doesnt stand out too much)
