My hornwort is doing great. I have left it floating and it just kind of forms a cascade from the top of my 55 to the botttom. Great for all the guppy fry I have now. Tank temp has been low 80's all summer and it tolerates it fine. Just trim all the yellowing or brown bits close as possible to the big stem when you get it and plunk it in the tank. My 55 only has 15 watts of light over it because with both lights on the tank gets too hot. Both hornwort and java moss are doing fine and growing well.i agree with java moss but i've heard hornwort needs quite a rich nutrient substrate plus they prefer cool water, not entirely sure but thats what i heard
