Ok, I don't think you have this store in US or UK, but im in Aust., and I went to pet city today (A store) and you won't belive this but I suppose its only for temporary purposes only. I told them why they are like this and they said its usually only for a few days because there is a constant buy and go everyday at their store, but anyway, this is what happened.

I saw a (approx) 10 Gallon tank (US) Filled with 15 elephant noses, and about 10 discus big and 10 discus small, also had about 20 small random fish. All bunched up in there. They where fighting as well! I had never seen a discus so p**sed off! It killed a small discus and the elephant noses seemed to be getting a little peeved too. If that tank was up for a long time it would do some serious damage to the fishes in there. Major overcrowd. I hope that tank really is for temporary purposes only.

Hi Eelzor :D

The thoughtlessness and stupidity of some lfs is amazing.

Of course it is only "temporary." In a few days, all those fish will be dead. Would you want to buy a fish from that tank? I wouldn't. If they aren't sick already, they must surely be in a weakened condition from living in that overcrowded environment.

And these are expensive fish. I'd hate to see how they treat their guppies!

I know, there are so many weird points here,

-Expensive Fish
-Sicknesses Growing
-Even Being Temporary will develope diseases within days!

I also think the reason pet stores do this (Not so much fish only stores) is because they have so much other pets to take care of to bother. Anyway, beats me.

It's so sad how people hire stupid people to work in the fish section. Also, I can't believe fish stores take so many fish when they don't have enough tank room for it.
