I'm overstocked but the fish are fine??????

plec's usually are good on there own.

But, how can you mistake a plec for a cory? they look nothing a like

it is actualy a common mistake, iv seen many a post statein they have a cory, only to come back half way through the post to say it was a plec

albimo plecs are lovley... i had one... he was a common and grew realy slowly.. it took him almost a yr to get from 2inchs to 6.. i soon took him back

please ignore any mistakes in spellin... iv only just woke up.... but it seems my fingers havnt -_-

You are overstocked, but, if you're very dilligent with water changes and have good filters, then you can get away with it. But please don't add any more fish and once the fry are about 1" long, then take them to your lfs for rehousing. (they may even give you something for them)

Well I know my filter is a Reno bio filter, but not sure which, will check and post later.....I do water changes religiously every fortnight and am always studying my fish...... I can sit for hours just staring at them !!! (hubby thinks I am a bit bonkers, but he married me so what does that make him????? :D )

I spoke to lfs today, they will take babies off my hands but will not pay me for the priviledge!

Why did you take him back???????? just curious?

You must be doing something right if your tank has been running nearly a year now without any major disasters  So just carry on what you've been doing - you don't repair something that ain't broken :) - but no more fish till you get a larger tank !!!!

yeah i took him back, at the time he was in a 15.6gal tank..(2ft) it would have eventualy killed him through stunted growth.

i didnt have room for him in my 3ft and he was poopin an awful lot, i know ppl will prolly flame me for it.. but i didnt want him hurt so i took him back to the lfs, and got £12 back from him :) hes now in a great big 250gal tank and has reached almost 13inches

if id have kept him in my tank... what was he gonna do? curl up in a ball?

My lfs, say
"How long is your tank?"
"30"
"Well you can have up to 30" of fully grown fish in your tank,(not including tails in there full size)"

To me that would seem alot of fish for the amount of space, but thats what they do anyways.
They want to make money.

The more they sell the more they make. So as a general tip if you want to ask someone for advice ask someone who won't profit from it.
