Hello everyone! I just joined I'm from Seattle WA and I think axolotls are really cool! I have a 75g tank with two 9" female axolotls in it. There's 3 other tanks in the house that are my housemates. One has an Oscar, a cichlid and a goldfish in it. Another has a male white albino GFP axolotl in it and the other one has a bunch of smaller fish (not sure what type) and one recently added huge placeo
(about 7"!)
We also have a super cool ball python- her name is Sausage. She just likes to chill..
And I also have a super sweet pitbull mix with different colored eyes Her name is Azalea or Z for short

I'm hoping to make a sand waterfall in the future for my axolotls. Does anyone here have one set up? I'd love to see a video if you do..

Update on the avatar tank. Water fall up and running. :)

From start to completion. Step by step photo. finally got it up and running. Next couple of months is all about planting and patiently wait on the water to be ready. Avatar floating island tank :p:p

How to build a sand fall?

Hello everyone! I am absolutely failing at building one. I have sand that isn’t quite a soft powder like flour but still extremely thin, kinda like normal sand on a beach, I have the pvc pipe cut at a 45° angle at the bottom and the elbow at the top to dump the sand out, I have an air stone...

I read the first post as:

yes you are. its my housemates tank. He doesn't really take very good care of them. never does water changes. I tried to encourage him to several times but he isn't interested in hearing it.. the Oscar is super cool. he had 2 goldfish in a large planting bucket for about a year but I asked him to do something with them cuz mosquitoes were laying their eggs in it so he put them in that heated tank..

I know right? the 2 and a half year old grew fast. I hope to be able to afford a 150g+ tank in the near future. want to see if I can get them both close to a foot long I also wanted to try to get a melinoid male and breed them- when I have the time and resources..

Hmm that’s sad, obviously those fish have very different requirements. He really needs to rehome them otherwise that’s very cruel

I know right? I said pretty much the exact same thing to him- in the most easiest to understand way i could think of but he didn't care. I took some pictures earlier today. I guess he replaced some water recently. I assume he shocked the fish by running cold hose water straight into the tank but i'm not sure.
