I hope, but it's just like getting out of one problem and into another. At least this time it isn't my fault. But where could he have hurt that barbel? It's showing the white cartilage at the tip. Unless Bee or some other fish decided to nip it...
 
you're over reacting :blink: the hoplo will be fine, they're tough as nails, and the pictures and wounds you describe are trivial at best. Take a look around and you can quite easily find pictures of fish with huge open wounds which healed back up over time. Just keep the water clean and don't agitate the fish with your worries.

The water tests for ammonia and nitrite are 0 anyway.
I just don't like it when the little guy is hurt.
