ive got a 300Lwith 6 cories and an armoured cat as bottom dwellers, but would really like a pleco as even though for years have hated the sight of them, I have found that they have grown on me, i need one that wont grow to a stupid size for my tank. Ive looked in the pinned topic above this section and clown plecos look like the ideal size but i dont think it would be wise to have a few in this tank, the pinned topic states that they should be in a shoal or spieces tank.
Can anyone think of a plec that would be most suited for my tank, my LFS will order whatever i want for me but thought i'd ask you guys and gals for your imput as TBO you tend to give honest answers and not just looking for a sale.

cheers

hey daz bristlenose plecs are brilliant and stay rel small :good:
my sister has a pair in 1 tank breed 3 times...and single in another tank and they do a good jub with algae
i have a clown plec<inherited>prob is in my big tank i may not see him for a while....if i can catch him<fast>you can have him...took 3hours other day trying to catch him just cant cos hes about 2inches......
other hand charminster fish shop has a emmence ammount of bristles for cheap prices :good:

i have two ancistrus plecs, they are sweet, but would do a better job of the algae id they left my mopani wood alone

no not rare, and expensive depends on who you are I guess. If 20 quid for a fish is expensive to you then yes they are... to me it's a pretty cheap fish when compared to other plecs. Imo though, they are well worth the money...a very pretty and interesting little fish.

so would this fish be ok in a 125l tank?

Assuming you have compatible tank mates, adaquate space and hiding places then yes, it'd be fine.

well fish wise it's fine then....so as long as you have the room in the tank, and some adequate hiding places then go for it...
