I'm kinda discouraged right now.

I LOVE being surrounded by so many little eyeballs just waiting for some attention.
I know what you mean. I get home at night and my little Batista swims over to the side of his tank and does his little snaky dance for me. My hubby is in and out of the bedroom all day and said he never does this until I come home. He knows I love him  and give him care and attention. My other betta, Jericho that is in the community tank will also swim over to the side of the tank whenever I sit down to watch them. He stays right there by me until I leave!! I just realized that in addition to them wanting attention from me, I crave the attention from them, too.

the only time you could have too many tanks/too many fish is if you can't afford to care for all of them properly or you don't have the time to. that is obviously not the case for you, so tell your coworker he's not good enough to babysit your fish anyway :p

Honestly, I can see why other workers might not be keen on all of the tanks. They're taking up workspace, and probably make the cubicle look a little unprofessional. They probably are worried that if you ask one of them to house a betta for you, they'll soon all end up housing one, even though we here all know you're not like that.

However, he could have been nicer about it instead of mocking what you're doing. And anyways, its proven that people work harder and are happier when they can have animals in the work place.

So he can stuff off. lol.

Do you have anyplace at home you can keep the tank instead?

My cube is HUGE. I only had (2) 1 G tanks and (2) 2.5G tanks in here.
Everyone stops by to see the fish - everyone loves them.

And no, I don't have any room more at home - I have (3) 2.5G tanks and one 10G tank at home. in a 2 bedroom apartment.

And he's torked me off before. He doesn't think before he speaks sometimes. And he knows i'm perturbed by what he said. He is staying away from me right now. He knows better.

Haha; you sound like me. I have 7 five gallon tanks and one 2.5 gallon in my "apartment," which is actually just one small bedroom I share with my room mate, and a kitchenette.
