I'm Gutted, And Need Help To Fix!

temp currently 31.8 degrees ..... I know someone mentioned 30 degrees on here, but what's the best temp to get these parasites off my fish?

At 30c it speeds up the life cycled of the parasite, so at that temp the parasite should start to fall off the affected fish, i suppose at even higher it will occur quicker. However this makes it more stressfull for the fish. You can only kill the parasite during its free swiming stage. I Think it will take longer than 2 days more like 7-10 days. Read the instruction that came with the treatment, and keep dosing the treamtment however many day it states.

Thanks andy, you've been a great support :good:

I have the heater set at 31 degrees but the digital temp shows 31.6 right now. Is it safe to turn it up another degree or more if the higher temp will increase the speed of removing them?

I really want to do a water change as the glass is a bit dirty and I hate the tank dirty. I was hoping by Sun (3 days after inital treatment) I could do a 50% change. I also didn't want the temp to stay at this for a week but if it won't kill them then I will keep it up as I want them to feel better.

Is there any reason why the cardinals are most affected and why they aren't coming off them? What makes them different? The harlequins haven't had one spot on them, it's really strange as they have all been in there togehter for the whole time.

On the bottle it states to repeat tretment in 3 days if necessary. Looks like I'll be doing this alright!!!

Once most of the spots have fallen off the affected fish you can lower the temp a little, to about 28c. I would not do a water change untill the end of the treatment. Once all of the spots have gone from the fish, carry on the treatment for another 2-3 days just to make sure that the ich has been killed. Then you can do a water change, i would advise you to do about 30-40% change. Keep at it youll beat the ich! Hopefully by next wednesday you will be ich free!

I'll either beat it or kill my fish trying.

I regret putting new fish in there when all was okay. Stupid thing to do.

I'll resist the water change and wait.

So is it safe then to keep repeating the treatment every 3 days? Over and over with no water change? Won't that make the water toxic with chemicals?

One cardinal has 12 spots that I can see, Probably has alot more that I can't see. None at all have fallen off. All 9 have a similar amount. Is this a severe amount of minimal?

I feel so sorry for my fish, they must feel pretty rough.

Yes it is safe to keep repeating treatment, Its now a waiting and retreatement game.
